Heading back to St. John's

It's nice to get back to a real keyboard after several days typing with one finger on my "handheld thingy." Good day for driving, what with constant rain. We got as far as Clarenville, which is famous for being the North America connecting point for the Transaltlantic Telegraph cable, which connected the continent to Europe starting in 1927. Who knew. We went into town for a couple of hours and looked around the Thrift Store, then the kids ended up in the usual place, the grocery store, spending their $$ on snacks.
Tomorrow we're off to St. John's for our final day of the trip.
Sorry to say, we didn't see any whales on either one of our two boat excursions. We did see one whale, if but for a brief moment, from a roadside viewpoint. I think it was about a half a mile away.
